Superior double - slightly dated but with a distinct touch of class. Huge comfortable bed and large bathroom. Did not have dinner but breakfast was excellent with good choice. Friendly staff and good friendly service in the bar. Would stay again.

The breakfast was excellent. The staff were always friendly. We appreciated the lift as my friend can hardly walk up stairs. We got upgraded to a different room which was nice and unexpected.

An absolute hidden jem Didn't know of Nairn at all and wasn't planned The hotel was suggested by booking.com with a discount The building itself is a manor that looks like from an Agatha Christie book and movie. Before us came an entire tour to the reception. Regardless, Mary, the receptionist, cleared them all out , in minutes, treated me in seconds giving me a great room and was patient with all of my question despite the army of people she had to deal with. The room was awesome, great, clean and home like, the bathroom was even better. We ate at the Charlie Chaplin restaurant, the portions were huuuuuge. I've lived in the uk for the past 6 years and first time the portions were actually enough. The food itself was tasted great. Honestly, how good the food was , it was just a surprise on top of another great surprise. Don't eat at town, the restaurant will blow ur mind. Waitress was kind as well. Breakfast has a nice take to it when waiters ask what u want and bring most of it to the table while u still have a buffet. Another plus, the have 3 Highland cows, which are relatively friendly. Almost didn't see the cows at all in Scotland but they have 3 of them. Also, 7 minutes walk from the beach. Between Mary the receptionist, the dinner, the room and the place. A hidden jem honestly Wowed me away

We have stayed at the hotel on two previous occasions. This third occasion was different in that we stayed outside the hotel, in a ‘Courtyard’ room which was comfortable, quaint etc, but seemed less like staying at a hotel. The breakfast was excellent, as were the staff.

Muthu Newton Hotel is a beautiful property, really looks like a castle in the Highlands. The staff is very helpful. We stayed in the courtyard rooms, which are in a different building but next door. They were very comfortable and very spacious. They were great to relax after a day exploring the Highlands. We did not use the Breakfast or Dining facilities, cannot comment on that… we had snacks with us for breakfast purposes, however the rooms do not have fridge nor minibars to keep anything refrigerated - luckily for us it was still chilly weather so our food was easy to maintain at a good temperature. The property is not too far from Inverness (25min drive) and easy place to stay to visit sights in the region. We enjoyed our stay in this hotel.

room was clean and food was good in Chaplin restaurant although over priced. i had the venison which was over cooked for me but would have been fine for others , the plate would have benefited from some vegetables to accompany the mash and meat .Although could have added as an extra side, but feel at the course price should have been included

A beautiful hotel in a stunning location. We had the 2 bedroom Fraser Suite which was very roomy and very comfortable. Staff were very friendly and helpful Breakfast was plentiful and a good selection of cold and cooked food. Food in the restaurant was lovely The basket of fruit and the bubbles on arrival was a lovely touch

Great location. Good base to visit Inverness, Nairn and Brodies Country fare. Highland cattle looking good. 2 weddings over the 2 nights we stayed but didn't disturb us at all. The rest of the hotel was probably quieter than usual. Staff were lovely. Helpful and friendly. Breakfast good, busy but staff coped v well.

The Muthu Newton Hotel is just off the A96 Inverness Road with a long driveway to the hotel. It is a relatively short walk from the main town of Nairn if you're fit and able. We were allocated a room in the Courtyard, which is separate from the main building and so not privvy to experience the “hotel life". Our room was very spacious and provided everything we required. Overall, our experience was an enjoyable one and what we had hoped for when booking.
