Superior double - slightly dated but with a distinct touch of class. Huge comfortable bed and large bathroom. Did not have dinner but breakfast was excellent with good choice. Friendly staff and good friendly service in the bar. Would stay again.

We have stayed at the hotel on two previous occasions. This third occasion was different in that we stayed outside the hotel, in a ‘Courtyard’ room which was comfortable, quaint etc, but seemed less like staying at a hotel. The breakfast was excellent, as were the staff.

Muthu Newton Hotel is a beautiful property, really looks like a castle in the Highlands. The staff is very helpful. We stayed in the courtyard rooms, which are in a different building but next door. They were very comfortable and very spacious. They were great to relax after a day exploring the Highlands. We did not use the Breakfast or Dining facilities, cannot comment on that… we had snacks with us for breakfast purposes, however the rooms do not have fridge nor minibars to keep anything refrigerated - luckily for us it was still chilly weather so our food was easy to maintain at a good temperature. The property is not too far from Inverness (25min drive) and easy place to stay to visit sights in the region. We enjoyed our stay in this hotel.

Great location. Good base to visit Inverness, Nairn and Brodies Country fare. Highland cattle looking good. 2 weddings over the 2 nights we stayed but didn't disturb us at all. The rest of the hotel was probably quieter than usual. Staff were lovely. Helpful and friendly. Breakfast good, busy but staff coped v well.

Fantastic location, beautiful old building with history, lovely staff - especially the lady at breakfast Really great that there is level access too e.g.well designed ramp, lifts etc - access is so often overlooked partic5inbhistoric buildings.

The Muthu Newton Hotel is just off the A96 Inverness Road with a long driveway to the hotel. It is a relatively short walk from the main town of Nairn if you're fit and able. We were allocated a room in the Courtyard, which is separate from the main building and so not privvy to experience the “hotel life". Our room was very spacious and provided everything we required. Overall, our experience was an enjoyable one and what we had hoped for when booking.

The property itself is elegant, with spacious rooms, well-appointed. You feel transported back to an earlier era from the minute you turn off on the private drive to this former estate home. This is a wonderful refuge from the world in a beautiful setting.

Free room upgrade was a fabulous surprise and greatly appreciated, the hotel grounds are great, lovely looking hotel, and very friendly staff. We thought the location was good too as we started our NC500 trip at Inverness.

Lovely all round, clean ,great food, great location even walked down to the beach, Our 2 night stay was great, the highland cows and red squirrels we saw were an added bonus. The only error was after our first night the room was serviced and refreshments restocked apart from milk. We weren't left any and were just too tired to go down/ be bothered to ask for more . Didn't ruin our stay was just a pain and a bit inconvenient
